Epple named EVP, director of brokerage for Austin

AUSTIN--Matt Epple has been promoted to Executive Vice President - Director of Brokerage in Austin for Weitzman.

Epple will oversee the Austin office’s brokerage team and work with its members to extend the firm's reach and presence with clients, prospects and the overall industry at large.

“Matt is one of the most experienced real estate professionals in the Austin market,” said Scott Freid, city partner for Weitzman in Austin. “Beyond that, he has earned the respect and trust of our team and our clients due to his high ethical standards, leadership and market knowledge.”

Currently, the office’s brokerage team is responsible for leasing more than 10 million square feet of space in projects ranging from office properties, small neighborhood strips to large regional-draw power and specialty retail destinations.

As Executive Vice President with Weitzman, Epple will continue to specialize in tenant representation, investment sales, and project representation. He also represents Chase Bank, Wingstop, Anytime Fitness and a number of local Austin businesses.

Epple ranked in Weitzman's statewide Top 10 Producers for 2016, 2017 and 2018. In 2006, his first year with the firm, he was recognized as Rookie of the Year for Weitzman on a companywide basis. In addition, Epple has earned the Power Broker Award from CoStar multiple times based on his transaction volume. He has also been ranked as a Heavy Hitter in the Austin Business Journal multiple times.

Epple has been a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Real Estate Council of Austin. Epple was appointed to the RECA Leadership Development Council in 2008. He also is a member of the University of Texas Real Estate Finance and Investment Center (REFIC) and is an active member of Foundation Communities.

Epple received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin.
