Marshall Mills

President & CEO

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

R. Marshall Mills is President and Chief Executive Officer of Weitzman. Mills is responsible for overseeing the company, with particular emphasis on market share growth and overall performance. As president and CEO of the statewide Weitzman, Mills enhances his leadership role in directing the company's operations and brokerage activity in Dallas-Fort Worth and throughout Texas. The company, in addition to Dallas-Fort Worth, operates offices in Austin, Houston and San Antonio.

Mills oversees the brokerage operations in all of the company's offices. Weitzman currently operates with approximately 60 brokers responsible for leasing a portfolio of more than 44 million square feet throughout the state. On the asset services side, he oversees statewide property management, asset management and development operations. Weitzman currently manages a retail property portfolio of more than 22 million square feet.

Mills joined Weitzman in 1992 and has also served as Chief Financial Officer, with responsibility for accounting, financing and acquisition strategies. Prior to Weitzman, Mills was with Chase Manhattan Bank, N.A., where he was an interim construction lending/workout officer responsible for a major commercial property portfolio. Mills real estate finance experience at Chase included providing construction financing for commercial and residential development in markets across the U.S.

The Dallas Business Journal honored Mills as a "Most Admired CEO" in North Texas as part of its inaugural CEO awards in 2018.

PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS

Mills is an active member of the Urban Land Institute, the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Maverick Chapter of the World Presidents Organization (WPO). As a member of the Real Estate Council of Dallas, he served as Treasurer in 2007 and 2008, and he also has been on the Boards of Directors of both the Real Estate Council in Dallas and the Real Estate Council Foundation organizations. Mills is currently Director Emeritus and past Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee member for Turtle Creek Park and Arlington Hall Conservancy, an organization dedicated to preserving the beauty of Dallas’ historic Turtle Creek Park. Mills is also a past member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for the Episcopal School of Dallas.

EDUCATION

Mills received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
