SPEC'S TAKES ANCHOR SPACE IN THE VILLAGE AT FORUM PARKWAY

SAN ANTONIO—Spec’s Wine, Spirits & Finer Foods, a Houston-based wine and spirits superstore, has leased 20,594 square feet of retail space in The Village at Forum Parkway, a shopping center located at the north quadrant of I-35 and North and Loop 1604, for its first San Antonio-area location.

Phil Telisak with the Commercial Retail Division of The Weitzman Group handled negotiations.

The Village at Forum Parkway is a project of, and managed by, Cencor Realty Services. Michael Schoenbrun, city partner for the San Antonio office, said  The Village's location enabled it to quickly backfill the vacated anchor space.

Spec’s operates more than 50 locations in the Houston area, as well as in Beaumont and Austin. The stores offer a wide selection, including wines, spirits, liqueurs, beers and cigars.  Spec’s also features wine consultants, party planning services, custom gift baskets and a gift registry.

Spec’s has been owned and operated by the same Houston family since 1962.

At The Village at Forum Parkway, Spec’s tenancy represents a quick re-tenanting of a Circuit City anchor space that was vacated earlier this year.

At the center, Spec's joins a line-up that includes Bassett Furniture Direct, Houlihan’s, Chuck E. Cheese’s, Factory Mattress Sales, Citibank and Office Depot.

The Village at Forum Parkway is located directly across from the 1.2-million-square-foot The Forum at Olympia Parkway regional center.
