SHOPS OF SOUTHLAKE RETAILERS NOW OPEN

SOUTHLAKE—Central Market at Shops of Southlake officially opened on December 6 to huge crowds. Shops of Southlake is a 230,000-square-foot lifestyle retail center anchored by Central Market, one of the most upscale and high-profile grocers in Texas. The center is located at the corner of Southlake Boulevard (FM 1709) and South Carroll Avenue, directly across from Southlake Town Square..

David Palmer, executive vice president and head of Dallas Development for Cencor, is directing development of Shops of Southlake. Michelle Caplan and Earl Harris, with Cencor’s brokerage affiliate, The Weitzman Group, are responsible for leasing at the center.

In addition to Central Market, retailers now open at Shops of Southlake include Bailey Banks & Biddle, Kirkland's Home, Pier 1, DSW and several others.

Shops of Southlake enjoys a regional draw, thanks to the power of Central Market and the center’s location directly across from Southlake Town Square, one of the most successful “Main Street”-style projects in the United States. Southlake Town Square is a 600,000-square-foot mixed-use project that includes retail, entertainment, office and municipal uses in a pedestrian-friendly “town square” environment.  The project was just expanded with the addition of a 14-screen Harkins movie theater, The Cheesecake Factory, an Apple Store, a line-up of specialty retailers and a five-story Hilton hotel.

“The architecture and layout of Shops of Southlake complements that of Southlake Town Square,” Palmer said. “The result is one of the strongest regional lifestyle retail districts in the United States.”

The center benefits from a population of more than 450,000 people within an 18-minute drive. The trade area’s average household income exceeds $95,000.

Central Market is widely recognized as the premier fresh-food emporium for people who love food. The concept, launched in Austin, Texas, in the early 1990s, offers a huge assortment of the world’s finest fresh and prepared foods. Central Market sources products from 185 countries, and its regional specialties and seasonal offerings include 2,500 imported and domestic wines, 700 varieties of produce (including 150 organic items), 600 varieties of cheese from more than a dozen countries, 170 varieties of salsa, 130 varieties of olive oil, 80 varieties of seafood, 60 varieties of custom-made sausage, 50 varieties of sauces, 40 varieties of freshly roasted coffee, 40 varieties of freshly baked bread and 35 varieties of freshly squeezed juice. Many items, including products created especially for Central Market, are not available anywhere else in Texas.
