WEITZMAN NAMED LEASING AGENT FOR
THE MARKETPLACE AT HIGHLAND VILLAGE

HIGHLAND VILLAGE—The Commercial Retail Division of The Weitzman Group has been named exclusive leasing agent for The Marketplace at Highland Village, a 450,000-square-foot regional shopping center located at the northeast corner of FM 407/Justin Road and FM 2499/Village Parkway.

Earl Harris, Kenny Novorr and Andrew Sanderson with The Weitzman Group will handle leasing.

The Marketplace at Highland Village, which is opening this year, is anchored by a 45,000-square-foot LA Fitness, a 50,000-square-foot  T.J. Maxx and T.J. Maxx HomeGoods, a 20,000-square-foot Office Depot, a 15,000-square-foot Petco and a 203,000-square-foot Wal-Mart Supercenter set to open in mid-year 2007.

The Marketplace at Highland Village is a project of Phoenix-based Opus West Corporation. It is Highland Village’s largest commercial real estate project. Opus West is donating nine acres to the city of for open space at to allow the city’s inland trail system to be extended through the site.

In addition, the Wal-Mart Supercenter is specially customized in response to input from Highland Village residents. Boice-Raidl-Rhea Architects of Merriam, Kansas, have designed a store that uses lots of stone and glass, as well as standing seam-metal roof elements to make the Wal-Mart store architecturally consistent with the rest of the center.

The master architect for The Marketplace at Highland Village, the Dallas-based firm O’Brien & Associates, has designed the center in a hill country ranch theme, utilizing limestone, galvanized aluminum and brick.
