Weitzman has named Blane O’Banion, an experienced retail real estate professional, as vice president and director of leasing for Dallas-Fort Worth. At Weitzman, O’Banion handles negotiations and manages a leasing team responsible for project representation of a major portfolio of power, community, neighborhood and mixed-use retail centers in the D-FW area. O’Banion was most recently vice president and regional leasing director for Weingarten Realty Investors, a retail real estate investment trust, where he asset managed and directed the leasing and operations of a 3-million-square-foot retail portfolio in six states. In addition to asset management and leasing, O’Banion has extensive experience with retail re-developments and re-tenanting programs.

O’Banion is a member of the North Texas Commercial Association of Realtors and the International Council of Shopping Centers. For ICSC, he serves as the current State Planning Co-Chair, and previously has held numerous leadership positions with ICSC, the retail industry’s largest trade group.
O’Banion received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.
