DALLAS—Carlos Medina, a research professional with extensive experience in GIS data and retail real estate research, has been named Research Manager with Weitzman, one of the leading retail-focused commercial real estate firms in Texas.
In this position, Medina will manage the progression of Weitzman’s Research Division into more extensive retail data and analytics, including multiple software platforms, and he will focus on the strategic use and distribution of data as it relates to retail real estate, markets and consumers. “Weitzman views research and deep dives into market and consumer data as critical to the real estate decision-making process,” said Weitzman’s Chief Marketing Officer Leisa Barger. “Carlos brings experience with not only the most current data tools, but also an unparalleled ability to analyze data and make it work for our business and our clients.”
Weitzman uses the most current data tools, including industry leading GIS mapping software, the most powerful mapping and spatial data analytics technology available. “Carlos’ background with the use and analysis of ESRI data will ensure our clients benefit to the fullest extent from this powerful tool,” Barger said.
Prior to joining Weitzman, Medina worked as GIS Analyst II with RJN Group, Inc., a civil engineering firm based in Wheaton, Illinois. He also has experience as GIS Support Technician with the City of Dallas and previously was with Weitzman as a GIS Specialist.
Medina received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Geography, Urban Development & Planning, from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois.
