Tom Terkel President Cencor Urban tterkel@cencorrealty.com Professional Background Thomas J. Terkel is President of Cencor Urban, a division of Cencor Realty Services that specializes in the development of urban, mixed-use projects that focus on retail and commercial activities. Prior to forming Cencor Urban, Terkel was in charge of the Austin office of The Weitzman Group and Cencor Realty Services from 1989 until 2001. During that time, Terkel developed or redeveloped 15 retail projects containing over 1,500,000 square feet. Prior to creating the Austin division for Weitzman/Cencor in 1989, Terkel was senior vice president for Henry S. Miller Development Group.  Organizations Terkel is an active member of several professional and civic organizations, including the International Council of Shopping Centers, the executive committee of the Board of Directors of The Real Estate Council of Austin, the board of the Zachary Scott Theatre, and has previously served on the 2006 Bond Election Advisory Committee, the executive committee of the Austin Regional Council of the Urban Land Institute, the Central Texas Regional Advisory Board of the Trust for Public Land, the Board of the Austin YMCA (where he has chaired several committees), the Austin Family House and the Mayor's Task Force - comprehensive Watershed Ordinance. Education Terkel received a Juris Doctor degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas and a Bachelor of  Arts degree from American University in Washington, D.C.
